Guitar Lessons

I have taught guitar lessons to both youth and adult learners across the North Country for over 20 years. Whether you are brand new to the guitar or have some experience under your belt, I will create a lesson plan catered to your individual skill set and goals. Taking lessons includes the opportunity to perform in recitals, which occur 2-3 times per year.

  • Beginner to Advanced instruction is offered for both acoustic and electric guitar.

    Scheduling is flexible and can be offered in-person or online.

    In-person lessons are offered in Potsdam at the Trinity Episcopal Church or by other arrangement.

    The length of the lesson will depend on age and skill level of the student.

  • Group lessons are offered on a case-by-case basis for groups of 2 or more students at an adjusted rate.

  • Music theory classes are offered for beginner to intermediate learners.

Performance

I offer live music rooted in folk, bluegrass, blues, country, and jazz traditions, featuring fingerstyle acoustic guitar and versatile electric playing. I am currently playing in a modern folk, Americana, and bluegrass duo arrangement with my wife, Katharine.

I have experience performing solo, in duos, trios, and full band settings, and can provide lead or rhythm guitar. Whether you need background music for an event, a featured performance, or accompaniment for other artists, I can tailor the arrangement and sound to fit your needs.
